FunEthnoMath Web is an interactive learning platform that combines mathematics education with local cultural heritage through an ethnomathematics approach. The platform utilizes web technology and virtual tours to provide contextual learning experiences that support the development of students’ mathematical literacy skills.

Connecting Mathematical Literacy Development with Local Cultural Exploration.

This project was developed through a research-based initiative that sought to make mathematics learning more meaningful and relevant to students’ daily lives. By incorporating historical buildings in Rembang as learning contexts, FunEthnoMath presents mathematical concepts through cultural exploration activities that encourage students to observe, analyze, and apply mathematics in authentic situations. The platform includes interactive learning materials, virtual tours, formative assessments, and reflective activities designed to create a more engaging and contextual learning experience.

Transforming Educational Content into an Engaging Digital Learning Experience.

The primary challenge was designing a platform that could effectively integrate mathematics, local culture, and technology without overwhelming learners. The development process required learning new tools and technologies, creating interactive virtual tour experiences, and ensuring that educational content remained accessible and easy to understand. Multiple revisions and testing sessions were conducted to improve usability, content presentation, and the overall learning experience for students.

Integrating Technology, Culture, and Mathematics into Meaningful Learning.

FunEthnoMath demonstrates how digital technology can be utilized to bridge mathematics education with cultural heritage in an innovative way. Through the combination of ethnomathematics, interactive web features, and virtual exploration, the project provides a learning environment that encourages active participation and deeper conceptual understanding. The development process also strengthened skills in educational research, instructional design, web development, user experience design, and technology-enhanced learning.
